We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.

For me, having a coffee should be an experience not just a procedure to get caffeine into me. The right coffee cup adds to this experience and brings it to an even more enjoyable level. Plus they look great!

Who are Bambrew?

Back in 2018, Siobháin purchased a reusable cup for her partner René. He is out on the road all the time and loves his takeaway coffees, don’t we all!

René was thrilled with his present and Siobháin was relieved that it was being used, instead of thrown in the back of a kitchen cupboard after only a few outings!

René felt quite chuffed that he was no longer using single use cups for all of maybe 20 minutes and then going in the bin!!

It was then that Siobháin decided to do a bit of research into how many single use cups were used in Ireland. She was shocked to discover that 22,000 single use coffee cups are disposed of in Ireland EVERY HOUR.

Your choices make a difference!

Even though you might be one person, your choice to buy reusable products make a big impact on the world.

How many cups of coffee do you get every month?

Let’s say you get 3 takeaway cups of hot beverages a week! That is 12 cups a month -> 156 cups a year! I hear some of you saying, “ah yes, but my coffee place uses compostable cups”. Think how many of those end up in the general bin also, rather than a compostable bin collection which is brought to a proper facility for heat activated breakdown.

Did you know a plastic straw can take up to 200 years to breakdown?

There are many great uses for plastic but ideally not as a single use. A plastic straw might be used for 10 minutes but can take 200 years to break down. So a box of 100 straws would take 20,000 breakdown years… That is crazy!! As for plastic bottles, they can take 450 years to breakdown… let’s stop this madness and get reusing our straws and bottles!

Even though plastic water bottles are recyclable, the majority end up in landfill.

Even though plastic water bottles are recyclable, they end up in landfills, litter our countryside and pollute our waterways and oceans. If you buy just one bottle of water a day, at an average of €1.21, you will be spending €441.41 every year, on water. One plastic water bottle takes 450 years to breakdown!

Bambrew toothbrushes are providing more than reusable toothbrushes for you.

They give an opportunity for a family to earn more income. We source our bamboo products from not only sustainable crops but also socially conscious suppliers! Do your part and help stop 2 BILLION plastic toothbrushes ending up in landfill and in our oceans every year.
